Who We Are

Hi, I’m Sukhjit, and I’m deeply passionate about supporting individuals on their mental health journey. My decision to become a counsellor comes from both personal and lived experiences within my family and community, where I witnessed firsthand the impact of mental health challenges — as well as the stigma and barriers that often prevent people from seeking help.
I understand how cultural, social, and systemic factors can make accessing care difficult, and I am committed to creating a space where these barriers are acknowledged and addressed. My goal is to provide counselling that is accessible, compassionate, and non-judgmental, recognizing the courage it takes to reach out for support.
Through my work, I hope to guide clients toward understanding, healing, and self-empowerment. Whether navigating anxiety, grief, identity challenges, or life transitions, I aim to help you feel heard, validated, and supported, while honouring your unique experiences and resilience.
I believe that therapy is not about “fixing” a person, but about walking alongside them — helping them navigate challenges, rediscover their strength, and embrace growth in a safe and inclusive environment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if counselling is right for me?
Counselling can be helpful for anyone who is experiencing emotional difficulties, life changes, or a desire for personal growth. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit — even if you just want support, guidance, or a safe space to reflect, counselling can help.
What happens in a first session?
Your first session is an opportunity to get to know your counsellor, discuss your concerns, and explore your goals for therapy. We’ll talk about what brought you to counselling, what you hope to achieve, and how we can work together to create a supportive plan tailored to you.
How long does counselling last?
Sessions typically last 50–60 minutes. The total number of sessions depends on your goals and needs — some clients find a few sessions helpful, while others benefit from longer-term support.
Is counselling confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is a core part of counselling. Your privacy is protected, and what you share in sessions stays between you and your counsellor, with some exceptions required by law (for example, in cases of imminent harm).
How do I know if counselling is working?
You may notice small changes over time, such as feeling more understood, gaining clarity about your thoughts and feelings, developing healthier coping strategies, or experiencing improved emotional well-being. Progress can look different for everyone, and your counsellor will work with you to track your goals.
What if I’ve never tried counselling before?
That’s completely okay! Many people start counselling for the first time without knowing exactly what to expect. Your counsellor will guide you through the process, answer questions, and create a safe, supportive environment where you can explore at your own pace.
